Play on your phone without an app store

Retranca doesn't need an app store. It runs in your phone's browser, with an interface built for small screens. If you like, you can install it from the browser itself: the game gets an icon on your home screen, opens in its own screen, without the browser bar and works offline.

Install on Android

1. Open the game in Chrome.
2. Tap Install on your phone, on this page or on the game's main menu. On a quick first visit, the button may only show you the way: in that case, open Chrome's menu and tap Install app.
3. Confirm. The Retranca icon appears with your other apps.

Install on iPhone and iPad

On iPhone, the reliable route is through Safari.

1. Open the game in Safari.
2. Tap the Share button.
3. Choose Add to Home Screen and confirm.

On iPhone, the installed game may keep its data separate from Safari. If you already have a game in progress in the browser, export the save first and import it after installing.

Install on a computer

In Chrome or Edge, click Install on the game's main menu or the install icon in the address bar. The game opens in its own window and sits with your other programs.

Do you need to install it?

No. Installing is just a convenience. It's the same game:

• It takes up little space, because these are the same files as the site.
• It updates by itself, with no app store involved.
• It doesn't ask for device permissions.
• You remove it like any other app.

Playing offline

After the first visit, the game works without internet, installed or not, because everything runs on your device. Only ads and updates need a connection. There is no server holding your game, so you can play on the subway or on a plane without losing anything.

Tips for small screens

• In the lineup, tap a player and then another. There's no need to drag.
• In tables, swipe sideways to see all the columns.
• For unimportant matches, use Result only to move faster.
• Short sessions work well: the Advance button stops whenever something needs you.

Moving the game from phone to computer

Saves stay on each device. To continue on another, use Export save to create a file and Import save on the other device. The saves and backups guide explains it step by step.
